For items damaged beyond repair – for example, books with water damage – you will be billed the cost of replacement plus a $10.00 per-item processing fee. Notify the Circulation Department of the items in question and staff will generate a bill. You may come to the circulation desk on the second floor in person, email circdesk@aacc.edu, or call 410-777-2238. (If emailing or leaving a voice message, please include your full name and/or library card number so that staff can retrieve your record.)

Do not write or highlight in library books or remove pages, as these constitute damage and you will be billed for replacement.

If you believe the item might be reparable, please bring it to the circulation desk and let a staff member know about the damage. Be prepared to leave an email address or phone number where you may be contacted, as assessment of the item's condition may not be immediately possible (depending on availability of appropriate staff). Based on this assessment, a bill will be provided to you for the item's repair or replacement.

Please do not attempt to repair books yourself! Books require special kinds of tape and glue, so you will cause further harm by using the common household varieties.
