How do I find materials from the Peer Learning Partnership (PLP) collection?

Materials belonging to the PLP are held behind the Circulation Desk on the second floor of the Truxal Library. Holdings can be found in the library catalog.

Searching for a known item

If you know the item you wish to find, you can simply do a keyword search.

Catalog search for keywords cold war isaacs. Search facets appear in a sidebar.
In this example, there are two results as the item is in both the library's main collection and the PLP collection. Peer Learning Partnership appears under "Item Type" and the location is Circulation Desk. Under Limit Search Results, you may use the item type filter (link or checkbox) to restrict results to only PLP holdings.

Browsing the collection

PLP materials can be found by searching the catalog with that abbreviation: see catalog search results for plp.

There are a few false matches (e.g., price lowering protection). You may remove these using the item type limiter:
In the search facets menu, select Peer Learning Partnership either by selecting the link or checking the box and pressing the Include button.

Borrowing materials

When you visit the Circulation Desk, be sure to identify yourself as a PLP facilitator or participant to the desk staff. You will also need a Truxal library card or a government-issued photo ID. The default loan period is 7 days. However, if you need a longer checkout, just ask. (For example, if you are preparing for a program to take place in a month, we can easily accommodate that.)

Center on Aging (COA) collection

PLP members are also eligible to use DVDs, books, and CDs from the COA collection. These are also held at the Circulation Desk and can be found using a similar catalog search strategy: browse catalog results for coa.
