Loaner laptops are always checked out with a due date. You'll be informed:

  • By email (student email)
    • When notified that your device is ready for pickup or has been shipped;
    • When your pickup is confirmed; and,
    • In a due date reminder 10-14 days before the laptop is due; plus,
  • In person when you pick up the laptop

You can also check on your due date by:

Generally, laptops are due at the end of the semester – that is, shortly after finals end in December (for fall) or May (for spring). However, there are exceptions, such as:

  • You borrow a laptop in August and are enrolled only in 8-week classes ending in October.
    • Unless you register for additional classes and renew the laptop, your due date will be in October.
  • You withdraw from all classes. Your laptop may be recalled and the loan period shortened.
    • If this happens, you'll be notified of the new due date by both mail and email.
  • Your professor gives you an extension on your final and you make arrangements with the circulation staff for an alternative due date.
    • In this situation, it is your responsibility (not your professor's) to contact circulation about your laptop loan.
  • Personal circumstances prevent you from returning the laptop on time and you make arrangements with the circulation staff for an alternative due date.
    • Staff can accommodate these issues only if we know about them, so please reach out by phone or email.
